Knives and Tools |
|
|||
|
Lucy’s knives are individually made from 1/8" thick O1 tool steel (no inauthentic stainless steel here!) giving a hardwearing and sharp multi purpose blade. They are inspired by traditional Tudor and medieval patterns, individually shaped, hardened and tempered, then riveted through the full width and length handle with solid 1/8" brass rod. The handles are made of native English woods, and you may take your pick from beech (both plain and spalted), apple, yew, elm, walnut, laburnum, cherry, pear and others as available. |

Please note that all prices do not include post and packing if you wish to order for delivery. For knives and similar sharp stuff, I send by Registered Mail to ensure that these end up safely in the right hands - I'm sure that you will understand. I charge this at cost, but for a guide, a single knife is less than a fiver for delivery here in the UK. Please also be aware of the laws governing the purchase and ownership of knives in this country - I will not sell to minors, so please do not ask if you have the fortune to be under 16. Finally, these are knives for reenactment purposes, made to cut and eat food, whittle with and to use as you would a modern pocket knife - they are not for fighting with (they are sharp!) or for throwing at trees |

| Drawknives | |||||
| Our drawknives are made of the same steel as our other knives, so will give you just as keen an edge. However, do be aware that a longer drawknife will not be so easy to control in finer detail and with harder woods ! Nominally, the blade cutting lengths are 4", 6" and looooong (for greenwood bark stripping only). | |||||

| A new product, these are designed for those who are looking for a tool to work on rounds, such as bowyers, bodgers or stick makers. There are three variants of 'bend', from relatively open to closed. The picture below is an 'open' type, with approximately 1/2" rise in the middle over 6" in width. A medium is 1 - 1 1/2" over 4" in the width, and a 'closed' the same rise but over 2 1/2" in the width. All feature handles that are 'lifted' so that they balance naturally in the hand and do not try to twist away. | |||||

| Frame Saws | |||||
| Made from ash, these are saws made to be used. Blades are traditional in appearance, but are new and modern steel so they will work properly, unlike a lot you will see out there. | |||||
| The small one has a 12tpi (teeth per inch) 3/4" blade for carpentry and finer stuff, the larger is a mean log chopper with 4tpi on a 1 1/2" blade. | |||||
